Clinical Study of Patients with Vertigo/Dizziness in Childhood

Vertigo or dizziness is infrequent in pediatric patients. In this study, we retrospectively investigated the prevalence and etiology of vertigo children. The subjects were 127 patients who less than 16 years old (at first visit) visited university hospital Kyoto Prefectural University Medicine between January 2008 March 2022, with chief complaint dizziness. consisted 53 boys 74 girls, a mean age 11.2 years. predominant diagnoses orthopedic dysfunction (OD; 34 patients, 26.7%); psychogenic (16 12.6%); vestibular migraine childhood (VMC; recurrent (8 6.3%); Meniere's disease (5 3.9%); delayed endolymphatic hydrops 3.9%), hypotension due to underlying conditions others.
